Doreen Phillips, DNP, PMHNP-BC

Doreen Philllips DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC, is an ANCC Board Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specializing in providing outpatient psychiatric care for adults. Doreen has experience diagnosing and treating a wide range of mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, mood disturbances, substance abuse, ADHD, and sleeping difficulties. Providing direct patient care has solidified her beliefs that there is not a one-size-fits-all approach to mental healthcare. As a nurse practitioner, she believes that every individual is unique, and she works with clients assessing bio-psycho-social factors while evaluating adverse childhood events that may contribute to mental processes. She is passionate about imparting an understanding of multiple human strengths, positive emotions, distress tolerance, and the use of cognitive strategies to overcome stress.

Educational Background

Dr. Phillips obtained her Bachelor’s in Science Nursing degree from University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston and Doctorate of Nursing Practice as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner from the University of the Incarnate Word, in San Antonio, TX.
