My name is Antony Antony, I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who is a big proponent of the recovery model approach to mental health care. This method allows me to treat clients through a holistic person-centered approach. I like to encourage the idea that it is possible to recover from mental illness. I believe everyone is unique and should be treated as such with individualized treatment plans. In my practice, I like to learn about my client’s backgrounds and listen to each person’s thoughts and ideas, thus allowing us to make decisions together as a team. It is important that I build therapeutic relationships with my clients where we can gain trust in each other, allowing me to provide the best quality of care that I can.

Background

I started my nursing career journey at Truman College in Chicago, IL and finished my Bachelors of Science in Nursing at Chamberlain College of Nursing. I have been working on inpatient psychiatric units since 2016. I was lucky enough that I found my passion for psychiatry and mental health care so early on in my career. I have gained a great deal of knowledge while working in psychiatry at St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago as well as working with our veterans at Jesse Brown VA medical center. I received a Masters in Nursing, specializing as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner from Northern Kentucky University. During my education, I have done rotations in outpatient mental health clinics as well as telepsych care.
